First thing, I had several history courses, all of them were related to (obviously) Anglo-Saxon history and only one about national reality, I would have liked to study more from the connection of our cultures, i.e. I would have liked to study how both Hispanic and Anglo-Saxon cultures related and enriched one another.
We had many hours of classes a week, this was because we needed to practice a lot, so the “communication” courses were very extensive in terms of practice hours. However, I think that maybe, by changing the teaching methods a bit and stimulating independent learning, we could have had less communicative practice hours and more about a about an alternative course that we might have been interested in.
The Faculty facilities were just alright, we had enough space to eat, to study and whatnot, but what I believe it is important to have as well, is green spaces available for students to chill out. Many little parks inside the campus were closed for students and kept for decoration purposes so maybe a good idea is to have those spaces free to use and enjoy while learning.
The teaching methods were also quite ok, not much innovative though and I think that is because of many traditions in the teaching of English for professionals of the field. I think that maybe a good way to improve the teaching is to have included more IT in the classes, I mean, we made a lot of use of IT, specially in the Phonetics classes were we had to use a Language Lab, but I believe we could have made a bigger use of different platforms and, all in all, I think that would have made the process less difficult.
I believe that I learnt a lot when I was at uni, and I think everybody will always have a set of well grounded critiques, but on the overall, I think I received a very good education and however improvable, it has been of great use in my professional life.

I also think it's very interesting to be able to learn how Hispanic and Anglo-Saxon cultures related and enriched one another.
ResponderBorrarI think that a big problem in the universities nowadays are the inexistentes green spaces, because the institutions think in grow up, but not of sustentable form.
ResponderBorrarAlways exist thing that can get better! is interesting know your experience and see that is not so different compared to the one that we are living now.
ResponderBorrarsee you in class!
No doubt that you should really like the language, because I'm dying to just think about being long hours practicing! But, those hours gave you a good result. Congratulations! :)
ResponderBorrarI think that one of the most urgent problems that teachers must solve is working with technologies. I hope soon to take charge of this problem.
ResponderBorrarThere is so much to change in this university!
ResponderBorrarOne of the serious flaws that this university has is the lack of infrastructure and spaces to better develop our activities.
ResponderBorrarIt's shocking when one begins to think in all the changes that it would make, since it speaks from the student experience. Very interesting everything he wrote!

ResponderBorrarI'm glad you feel that you received a good education, I think that helps you work on what you studied with greater passion
I feel that jgm was most nice before the constructions. I miss more green areas
ResponderBorrarI very much agree with your post. It is true that independent study should be encouraged so that it is not necessary to spend so much time in courses that become repetitive, to better have time to take courses of personal interest.
ResponderBorrarAnd the green areas and dispersion, of course. It is also important for the process of learning ... have a time with your classmates to relax, talk about the class or other things in a cute place
I think that JGM is very neglected for the University and the students
ResponderBorrar
ResponderBorrarhave green spaces within the university also I think it is important for students to achieve their learning objectives without forgetting to clear the mind
I believe that the green areas are really important in the college life. I think that the green areas could reduce stress in students :)
